First Response Painting
Privacy Plicy

We’re a locally owned team of painting professionals committed to honest work, transparent pricing, and getting every detail right the first time.

First Response Painting (“First Response Painting”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to firstresponsepainting.ca, to our social media pages and lead forms (including forms hosted on Facebook and Instagram), and to phone, email and text conversations you have with us.

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to quote and complete painting work:

  • Contact information — your name, email address and phone number.
  • Project information — the property address, property type (condo, single family house, townhouse or other), the rooms or surfaces involved, colour and finish preferences, timing, and any photos or measurements you send us.
  • Communication records — estimate requests, emails, text messages, form submissions, and notes from calls or site visits.
  • Technical information — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring source, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

Providing your information is voluntary. If you choose not to provide it, we may not be able to prepare an estimate or schedule work for you.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to estimate requests, questions and quote enquiries.
  • To prepare, schedule, perform and follow up on painting services.
  • To contact you by email, SMS/text message and phone call about your project, your appointment or your quote.
  • To send occasional promotions, seasonal offers and service reminders, where you have consented.
  • To invoice, process payment, and keep business records.
  • To improve our website, our advertising and the quality of our work.
  • To meet legal, tax, insurance and regulatory obligations.

3. Email and SMS Communications

By submitting your contact information through our website, a Facebook or Instagram lead form, or any other form we operate, you expressly consent to receive communications from First Response Painting by email, text message and phone, including:

  • Transactional messages — quote confirmations, appointment reminders, crew arrival notices, invoices and job updates.
  • Promotional messages — discounts, seasonal offers and service reminders.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

To opt out of texts, reply STOP to any message from us. Reply HELP for assistance.
To opt out of emails, click the unsubscribe link in any email, or email us at info@firstresponsepainting.ca.

Withdrawing consent to marketing messages will not affect messages that are necessary to complete work you have already booked.

4. Facebook and Instagram Lead Forms

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. If you submit one of our instant forms on those platforms, Meta collects the information you enter (which may be pre-filled from your profile) and passes it to us so we can contact you about your painting estimate. Meta’s own handling of that information is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy, not by this one. Once we receive your details, this policy applies.

We use advertising and measurement tools from Meta and Google that rely on cookies and similar technologies to show our ads and measure how they perform. We do not use these tools to identify you personally to third parties.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and tracking pixels to keep the site working, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use our pages, and measure the effectiveness of our advertising. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Declining cookies may limit parts of the site.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as far as they need it to do their job:

  • Customer relationship, scheduling and quoting software.
  • Email and SMS delivery providers.
  • Website hosting and analytics providers.
  • Advertising platforms, including Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google.
  • Payment processing and accounting providers.
  • Subcontractors or crew members assigned to your job, where the work requires it.

These providers are required to keep your information secure and confidential and to use it only for the purposes we specify. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. In those countries, information may be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement and government authorities under the laws of that jurisdiction.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — to complete the work, honour warranties, keep tax and business records, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements — after which we securely delete or anonymize it.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

You may, at any time:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw your consent to marketing emails, texts or calls.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we are legally required to keep.

Contact us using the details in Section 12. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable privacy law.

10. Third-Party Links

Our website and social media pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our services are directed at homeowners, property managers and businesses. They are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continuing to use our website or services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
